New Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze and the head of the EU delegation Janos Herman discussed Georgia-EU cooperation and the prospects of further intensification of the relations, the ministry said Nov. 11.

The sides also agreed on the further intensification of bilateral relations with the EU member-states. The special attention was paid to an agreement on Georgia's participation in the EU crisis management operations formalized in March.

Janelidze expressed the hope that this cooperation will promote the development of the armed forces of the country.

Herman stressed the importance of Georgian servicemen's participation in international missions under the EU auspices and expressed the hope that cooperation in this area will continue in the future.
