Georgian Prime Minister and US Assistant Secretary of State discussed the regional security issues.

The US fully supports the democratic reforms in Georgia, integration into the EU and NATO, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said at a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi Feb. 17.

The sides stressed the importance of Nuland's visit as a clear demonstration of the strategic partnership with the US, the Georgian government told Trend.

The sides discussed a wide range of relations between the two countries, including trade-economic cooperation. The regional security and strengthening of Georgia's security were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the reforms, including those held in the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.

The US supports Georgia's further integration into NATO and the EU at a high-level. Nuland stressed Georgia's progress as part of "Eastern Partnership" program.

Garibashvili emphasized the importance of US support.

"Georgia is doing everything to strengthen the relations with a key strategic partner," Garibashvili said.
