Georgian Railway shares updated report on income in 1H2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 9

The income of Georgian Railway JSC from January through June 2021 increased by 13.2 percent – up to 277.6 million Georgian lari ($88.9 million), compared to 245.3 million Georgian lari ($78.6 million) over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via TBC Capital.

However, the net finance loss of the Georgian Railway, having increased by 9.5 percent, resulted in a net loss of 32 million Georgian lari ($10.2 million) over the reporting period of 2021.

According to the TBC Capital, Georgian Railway transported 6 million tons of cargo from January through June 2021, which is an increase of 10.1 percent, compared to 5.4 million tons over the same period of 2020.

The financial costs of the railway have increased to 184.6 million Georgian lari ($59.1 million) from January through June 2021, compared to 121 million Georgian lari ($38.7 million) in 2020.

The benefit expenses of 12,500 employees amounted to 84.6 million Georgian lari ($27.1 million) – an increase of 2 percent, compared to 82.8 million Georgian lari ($26.5 million) over the reporting period of 2020.

Georgian Railway's revenue from oil shipments increased by 27 percent to $24.8 million, although from ore shipments it declined by 22 percent ($4.9 million).
