Georgia-Russia trade turnover increases in 9M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 21

Georgia’s trade turnover with Russia from January through September 2021 amounted to $1.1 billion, compared to $934.6 million over the same period of 2020 – an increase of 22.5 percent year-on-year, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Russia’s share in total Georgian trade turnover slightly decreased by 0.1 percent to 11.4 percent, the report said.

According to Geostat, Georgia's exports to Russia over first 9 months of 2021 amounted to $426.2 million, which is an increase of 38.1 percent, compared to $308.6 million over the same period of 2020.

Georgia's imports from Russia from January through September 2021 totaled $718.8 million – an increase of 14.8 percent, compared to $626 million over the reporting period of 2020.

Russia remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian trade turnover partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside with Turkey ($1.4 billion) and China ($1 billion).

Total Georgian foreign trade turnover from January through September 2021 amounted to $10 billion – an increase of 22.3 percent, compared to $8.1 billion over the same period of 2020.
