The net profit of Georgia’s commercial banks in October 2021 amounted to 117.4 million Georgian lari ($37.7 million), which is a decrease of 31.3 percent, compared to 171.1 million Georgian lari ($55 million) in September 2021, Trend reports, citing the statistical data from the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also decreased by 29.3 percent, compared to 166.1 million Georgian lari ($53.4 million) in October 2020.
According to the NBG, the income of Georgia’s commercial banks over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 472.2 million Georgian lari ($151.8 million), which is a decrease of 6.4 percent, compared to 504.8 million Georgian lari ($162.3 million) in September 2021.
However, the index of October 2021 increased by 6.8 percent, compared to 442 million Georgian lari ($142.1 million) over the same period of 2020.
The interest income of Georgia’s commercial banks in October 2021 decreased by 0.9 percent, compared to 404.2 million Georgian lari ($129.9 million) over the previous month of 2021, and amounted to 400.4 million Georgian lari ($128.7 million).
The current amount showed an increase of 11.5 percent, compared to 358.9 million Georgian lari ($115.4 million) over the same period of 2020.
