Georgia Capital to make substantial investments in renewable energy, education

The Georgia Capital PLC (GCAP) plans to invest $50 million in Georgia’s renewable energy and education over the next 3-5 years, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to GCAP, $10 million of this amount will be invested in 2021.

The renewable energy and education sectors are the main investment destinations in the medium term, the company said.

The investment company has already put $5.4 million in the development of these two areas over the first 9 months of 2021.

Some $1.1 million were allocated for the development of renewable energy pipeline hydropower plants (Darchi and Zoti) and wind power plants over the reporting period of 2021.

About $4.1 million was allocated for education, in particular, to expand the capacity of the Buckswood International School campus, for the land purchase and new campus construction, as well as to expand the capacity of the existing Green School campus and the Georgian-Austrian school.
