The amount of net loans issued by Georgia’s commercial banks in October 2021 totaled 39.6 billion Georgian lari ($12.7 billion), Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
According to the NBG, the current index increased by1.7 percent, compared to 38.9 billion Georgian lari ($12.5 billion) in September 2021.
Georgian commercial banks’ net loans in October 2021 also increased by 17.8 percent, compared to 33.9 billion Georgian lari ($10.9 billion) in the same period of 2020, the report said.
The volume of loans to the non-financial sector and households issued by Georgia’s commercial banks over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 41.6 billion Georgian lari ($13.3 billion), which is an increase of 14.6 percent compared to 36.3 billion Georgian lari ($11.6 billion) over the same period of 2020.
The same figure also showed a slight increase of 1.4 percent, compared to 41 billion Georgian lari ($13.1 billion) in September 2021.
Loan loss reserves of Georgia’s commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 decreased, compared to 2.04 billion Georgian lari ($655.9 million) in September 2021, and totaled 2.02 billion Georgian lari ($649.5 million), the NBG said.
According to the report, the current index also decreased by 16.6 percent, compared to 2.4 billion Georgian lari ($771.7 million) in October 2020.
