Georgia exported 1,097 tons of potatoes worth $159,640 to Central Asia from January through October 2021, Trend reports, citing National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Although, Turkmenistan did not import potatoes from Georgia in 2020, potato exports to the country over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to $125,360 (871 tons).
Turkmenistan is followed by Kazakhstan with 226 tons of imported potatoes from Georgia worth $34,280 over first 10 months of 2021.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported 20 tons of potatoes to Kazakhstan worth $3,230 in the second quarter of 2020.
Georgian's total potato exports from January through October 2021 increased almost 12 times, compared to $963,400 worth of potatoes (3,369 tons) over the same period of 2020, and amounted to $14.1 million (40,560 tons).
