The turnover in Georgia’s business sector in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 38.5 percent, compared to 29.2 billion Georgian lari ($9.3 billion) over the same period of 2020, and amounted to 40.5 billion Georgian lari ($12.9 billion), Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The same figure also increased by 15.7 percent, compared to 35 billion Georgian lari ($11.2 billion) in the second quarter of 2021, and by 38.4 percent, compared to 28.9 billion Georgian lari ($9.2 billion) in the first quarter of 2021.
The production value in the Georgian business sector in the third quarter of 2021 totaled 15 billion Georgian lari ($4.8 billion), which is an increase of 29 percent, compared to 11.6 billion Georgian lari ($3.7 billion) over the same period of 2020.
The volume of the turnover according to the size of the enterprise (third quarter of 2021):
Large businesses – 60.5 percent;
Medium businesses – 18 percent;
Small businesses – 21.5 percent.
The total production value according to the size of the enterprise (third quarter of 2021):
Large businesses – 42.1 percent;
Medium businesses – 27.4 percent;
Small businesses – 30.5 percent.
The total purchase of goods and services carried out by the enterprises in the third quarter of 2021totaled 22 billion Georgian lari ($7 billion), which is an increase of 33.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, while the purchase for goods and services for resale amounted to 13.7 billion Georgian lari ($4.3 billion) – 38.2 percent year-on-year increase.
The average number of employees in the third quarter of 2021 amounted to 678,000, which is an increase of 5 percent year-on-year. Out of the total number of people employed, 42.4 percent were female and 57.6 percent – male.
