Money transfers from Kazakhstan to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to $61.7 million, which is an increase of 214.7 percent, compared to $19.6 million over 2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
Remittances to Georgia from Kazakhstan in December 2021 alone totaled $13.3 million – an increase of 504.5 percent, compared to $2.2 million over the same month of 2020, and 43 percent, compared to $9.3 million in November 2021.
Thus, Kazakhstan ranks 6 among the main countries with the largest amount of transferred money in Georgia in December 2021.
The volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to $2.3 billion, compared to $2.1 billion over 2020.
Meanwhile, money transfers from Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to $316.7 million, which is an increase of 24.1 percent compared to $255.1 million over 2020.
