Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has provided 6.5 million Georgian lari ($2.2 million) for water supply work in the country's Kvemo Kartli region, Trend reports via the ministry.
Some 2,500 hectares of land will be provided with water, and water supply will be improved on 810 hectares of agricultural land, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, 60 reclamation infrastructure rehabilitation projects have been implemented in the Kvemo Kartli region over the past 9 years, increasing the area of irrigated agricultural land by 32,570 hectares and improving irrigation water supply to 24,820 hectares of land.
The rehabilitation project in Kvemo Kartli are carried out by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Georgian Amelioration LTD.
