Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) in January 2022 amounted to $1.1 billion, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
According to the statistical data, the current index increased by 41.1 percent, compared to $786.2 million over the same period of 2021, and by 20.4 percent, compared to January 2020 ($913.3 million).
Georgia’s exports in January 2022 amounted to $331.3 million, which is an increase of 47.6 percent, compared to $224.5 million over the same month of 2021, and by 23.6 percent, compared to $267.9 million in January 2020.
Georgia’s imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $778.1 million – an increase of 38.5 percent, compared to $561.7 million over January 2021, and 20.5 percent, compared to the same month of 2020 ($645.4 million).
The trade deficit in Georgia in January 2022 equaled $446.7 million with a 40.3 percent share in the total trade turnover.
The same index over the same period of 2021 amounted to $315 million, while its share in the total trade turnover accounting for 41.2 percent.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) in 2021 amounted to $14.3 billion, which is an increase of 25.6 percent, compared to $11.3 billion over the same period of 2020.
