BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Turkey in March 2022 amounted to $16.2 million, which is an increase of 211.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($5.2 million), Trend reports via the national bank of Georgia (NBG).

The same figure also increased by 24.6 percent, compared to March 2020, when revenues from visitors from Turkey to Georgia mounted to $13 million, and by 36.1 percent, compared to February 2022 ($11.9 million).

Thus, Turkey ranks third among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in March 2022, following after Russia ($34.3 million), and Belarus ($29.3 million).

Meanwhile, The number of visitors from Turkey traveling to Georgia in March 2022 totaled 42,421 people, which is an increase of 109.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (20,237 visitors).

The same figure increased by 3.2 percent, compared to 41,121 visitors in March 2020, and by 43.2 percent, compared to February 2022 (29,606).

The total amount of Georgia’s tourism revenues in March 2022 reached $174.5 million, which is an increase of 491.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($29.5 million), 136.4 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020 ($73.8 million), and 65.8 percent, compared to February 2022 ($105.2 million).
