WHO reports over 403,000 new daily cases of COVID-19

More than 403,000 new cases of novel coronavirus have been confirmed globally in the past 24 hours, pushing a total number of infections to 103.36 million, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in its daily bulletin on Wednesday, Trend reports citing TASS.

According to the WHO updates, the coronavirus-related deaths increased by over 12,100 to exceed 2.24 million.

As of 17.59 Moscow time on February 3, as many as 103,362,039 coronavirus cases and 2,244,713 coronavirus-related deaths were registered across the globe. The number of confirmed cases grew by 403,263 in the past 24 hours and the number of fatalities increased by 12,120.

The WHO statistics are based on the officially confirmed data provided by countries.

South and North America account for more than 50% of new COVID-19 cases submitted to the WHO in the past 24 hours (202,291). Europe goes second (134,985 cases) followed by South East Asia (24,035).

Most COVID-19 cases are recorded in the United States (26,055,512), followed by India (10,777,284), Brazil (9,229,322), Russia (3,901,204), the UK (3,852,627), France (3,172,126), Spain (2,705,001), Italy (2,570,608), Turkey (2,492,977), Germany (2,237,790), Colombia (2,104,506), and Argentina (1,943,548).
