BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has released an official statement concerning the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Trend reports.
The IOC's statement read:
"The IOC has acknowledged the complaints directed at the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee regarding the opening ceremony. During the daily briefing, the organizers clarified that there was no intention to disrespect any religious group or belief. They emphasized that the ceremony aimed to reflect society as a whole, stating that the scenes were not deliberately targeted and expressing their regret for any offense caused."
The opening ceremony scenes received sharp criticism from the international community. Various organizations and political figures condemned the presentation, deeming such actions by France unacceptable.
