Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates will start on Sunday a two-day visit to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a government press release, Xinhua reported.
Leading a delegation consisting of 60 businessmen and bankers, Socrates is expected to show his hosts the benefits of Portuguese bonds and products.
During his first stop in Qatar, Socrates will meet with Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani and Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He is also scheduled to open a business forum on Portuguese investment opportunities.
On Monday, the Portuguese prime minister will be in the United Arab Emirates to attend the opening of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. He will also meet with UAE's top government officials.
