Egyptian state-run television reported Friday night that 13 people had died and 75 were injured in Suez, a key port city, during protests over the course of the day, dpa reported.
The town on the Gulf is near the Suez canal, a major international trade route.
During the day, witnesses said protesters and police clashed repeatedly, as angry demonstrators called for ousting President Hosny Mubarak and democratic reform.
