Blair in Egypt for talks on Mideast peace
Former British prime minister Tony Blair arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Wednesday for talks on regional peacemaking, DPA reported.
Blair, the envoy of an the Middle East peace quartet, is due to meet later with Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi for talks on breaking an impasse in peacemaking between Israel and the Palestinians.
His visit is part of a current regional tour. On Monday, Blair attended in Washington a meeting of the quartet, which consists of the European Union, Russia, the US and United Nations.
