Al-Rai TV owner says Gaddafi's "morale is high"

The Iraqi owner of Al-Rai television said Thursday he was in contact with Moamer Gaddafi, whose family was paying him for broadcasting the fugitive Libyan leader's audio messages, DPA reported.

Mishaal al-Jabouri, who owns the Damascus-based Al-Rai television, told the German Press Agency dpa: "The morale of Gaddafi and his family is high and they are determined to continue resistance."

Al-Jabouri said his channel was broadcasting Gaddafi's messages in defence of "the people and national territories against occupation."

In a message Thursday via Al-Rai, Gaddafi said: "To all my beloved Libyans, the Libyan land is yours and you need to defend it against all those traitors, the dogs, those that have been in Libya and are trying to take over the land."

He denied that he left Libya for neighbouring Niger and described the reports as "psychological war lies."
