Syrian government troops seized control of the northern province of Idlib on Wednesday, after fierce fighting with the opposition Free Syrian Army, according to activists dpa reported
"Our brave resistance fighters inflicted heavy casualties on the regime forces before making a retreat to outside Idlib," Rami Idlibi, a Syrian opposition activist in the province, told dpa.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
