The UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi Thursday discussed with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh prospects for enforcing a proposed truce in neighbouring Syria, reported Jordan's official news agency Petra, reported dpa.
"If we can stop the killing and enforce this truce, I believe we can build on this truce to stop hostilities and take political actions to help the Syrian people, solve their problems and build a new Syria," Brahimi said during the meeting, according to the agency.
Brahimi warned of potential "regionalisation"of the conflict should Syria's violence persist, added the agency.
