At least 12 killed, 88 wounded in Iraqi violence

( dpa ) - At least 12 people were killed and 88 wounded on Wednesday in separate explosions in the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Kirkuk, Iraqi officials and media reports said.

In western Mosul, some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, militants detonated explosive devices, killing seven civilians and injuring 70, including women and children, Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency said.

A vehicle bomb was detonated in the middle of a market in northern Kirkuk. The explosion killed five and wounded 11 civilians, security sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.
