(dpa) - Romanian President Traian Basescu and First Lady Maria Basescu arrived Tuesday for a two-day state visit to Sweden.
Swedish Crown Princess Victoria welcomed the Romanian visitors on arrival at the Arlanda airport before they travelled to the Royal Mews in downtown Stockholm.
The presidential couple, Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia then rode in horse-drawn carriages to the Royal Palace for an official luncheon.
The president was Tuesday also to visit parliament hosted by the speaker of parliament and to meet with Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
On Wednesday, he was scheduled to attend a seminar on promoting trade and export ties between the two countries.
