Sir Mick Jagger says performing is as addictive as sex. ( FF )
The Rolling Stones frontman always gets a thrill out of being on stage but knows he can't let it take over his life.
He said: "Performing is like sex - it's an addiction. It is why we are out there doing it. But you do have to be careful. To do it well, you can't do it all the time. It has to be the right time.
"It's like when you are young you think you should be having sex all the time. If you are reading a book all you are thinking is, 'Why am I reading a book - why aren't I having sex? I'm wasting my time if I'm not having sex.' "
Mick, 64, loves being on tour but has to make sure he is physically prepared for it.
He added: "People are always saying, 'Where does the energy come from?' but I get that from being on stage.
"I do some preparation a few months before we go on tour, but nothing special. I think my fitness levels are down to being a war child. That diet was meant to be the best - hardly any fat or sweets."
