(dpa) - Four people died and at least
four others were injured Monday when a small plane crashed into a house next to
a school in Catia La Mar on the Caribbean coast, Venezuelan authorities said.
The cause of the fiery accident was unknown. The crash site is some 50 kilometres north of Caracas.
Angel Loreto, Fire Department spokesman in the state of
Vargas, said the bodies of those killed were charred and could not be
immediately identified.
It was unclear how many people were on board the private plane, a Cessna 404.
The machine was travelling from Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia, north of Caracas, to the island of Curacao. The pilot reported engine
problems shortly after takeoff.
