Former England star Paul Gascoigne was released from hospital Monday after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act, the dpa reported.
The one-time Tottenham and Lazio midfielder was taken to hospital on Sunday after approaching a member of the public in an agitated state in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said: "The man is no longer sectioned. Police believe he is no longer in hospital care."
Gascoigne was sectioned earlier this year after an incident in a hotel in Gateshead.
