Ukraine, Kiev, 8 October / Trend corr. Z.Novosvitski/ Ukrainian President Viktor Yushenko pays two days official visit to the Italian Republic.
Yushenko is expected to meet with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, as well as Renato Joseph Schiffini, Chairman of Italian Senate, Gianfranco Fini, Chairman of Parliamentary MP chamber, Silvio Berlusconi, Chairman of Italian Council of Ministers and other state officials.
The Ukrainian President will discuss official support by Roma of Kiev's European and Euro Atlantic course. The issue is, in particular, to join Ukraine the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) in the meeting of the NATO member-countries foreign ministers in December and implementation of political agreements of the latest Ukraine-EU summit in Paris. In addition, the sides will discuss deepening of the trade and economic and investment cooperation and interaction in the energy sphere.
Yushenko plans to visit the St. Sofia complex on 9 October, to lay flowers on Taras Shevchenko's monument and deliver a speech before the Ukrainian community.
Yushenko will return to the country on 9 October.
