The Arab Transitional Parliament on Sunday called on all concerned international bodies to adopt binding resolutions calling for an immediate stop of the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza Strip, the Egyptian MENA news agency reported.

In a speech at the opening session of the parliament's emergency meeting, Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammad Jassem al-Saqr called on Arabs to set up two committees for the reconstruction in Gaza and the latest developments of the Gaza situation, Xinhua reported.

Al-Saqr also urged the international community to provide some 35 million U.S. dollars in a bid to help relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

On Saturday, Israel's ground troops entered Gaza ruled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), marking the second phase of the Israeli offensive on the militant group after eight days of air strikes.

Israel's military action, aimed at retaliating for Hamas militants' rocket attacks into Israel, has so far killed some 480 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,400 others.
