Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency
meeting in Kuwait on Friday to discuss means of stopping Israeli attacks on
Gaza, Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said Monday, dpa reported.
Moussa said the ministers would discuss "the continuing Israeli aggression
on Gaza," following Israel's rejection of UN Security Council Resolution
1860, which calls for an immediate ceasefire.
Both Hamas and Israel have rejected the Security Council resolution.
Moussa said Arab foreign ministers had pushed for the resolution, working with
their US and British counterparts to draft language that the United States and Britian could accept.
Palestinian medics say more than 900 Gazans have been killed and at least 4,100
people injured as the fighting enters its third week. Israeli media report that
13 Israelis, including three civilians, have been killed since fighting began.
