Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi strongly condemned the kidnapping of the head of United Nations refugee agency in southwest Pakistan, reported Xinhua.

"The Government of Pakistan is taking all necessary measures for safe and early recovery of Mr. Solecki," Qureshi said in a statement.

He also extended deep condolences to the bereaved family of Syed Hashim Raza, the driver of Head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Office at Quetta John Solecki.

Unidentified gunmen attacked Solecki's car when he was on his way to office, killing the driver and kidnapping Solecki.

No group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
