An Iraqi official says that U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made an unannounced visit to Baghdad to meet with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, AP reported.
The prime minister's spokesman said the U.N. chief was meeting with al-Maliki Friday at his office.
Spokesman Yassin Majid says the two were discussing the relationship between Iraq and the United Nations.
The visit comes a day after the U.N. chief stopped in Afghanistan and urged U.S. and NATO-led forces to prevent civilian casualties in their operations.
