Next conference on security in Afghanistan is planned to be held in Kabul, an official of Afghan Presidential Administration Ahmad Zia Siamak Hirawi told Trend. The representatives of more than 60 countries and international organizations have been invited to attend the conference.

The conference will focus on the need of international community's assistance to Afghanistan, coordination of plans and programs of foreign institutions and companies, operating in Afghanistan, with the local authorities and their more effective operation, as well as the security of the country, press secretary of the Presidential Administration Hirawi said by telephone from Kabul on April 20. According to him, the conference will be held in late May, but the exact time has not yet been determined.

Hirawi criticized Iran's absence at the previous conference. "We know that Iran has problems with the U.S. and Britain, but these problems should not prevent cooperation between Tehran and Kabul and participation to conferences," he said.
He said stability in Afghanistan has a direct impact on the region, including Iran and therefore, Iran, as a neighboring country, should actively join the activities related to security in Afghanistan.
