Two Chinese students were killed and three others were injured on Saturday morning in a car crash near Saginaw City, Michigan State, Chinese Consulate-General in Chicago told Xinhua on Sunday.

Two Chinese students were killed and three others were injured on Saturday morning in a car crash near Saginaw City, Michigan State, Chinese Consulate-General in Chicago told Xinhua on Sunday.

An official of the consulate-general said that these five students are on their way for a fall color tour in North Michigan on Saturday but their SUV lost control on the highway, which rolled over and finally stopped by striking a tree around 8 a.m. Saturday. The reason of this fatal accident is still under investigation.

Two people, a male and a female student, in the front seat were dead on the scene and the other three injured students were transported to the local St. Mary's Hospital.

The two dead students and other two injured, a male and a female youth, are from the University of Michigan and the other injured girl is from Michigan State University.

China's Consulate-General in Chicago has informed the victim's families about the mishap.

Also on the way to fall color tour, one Chinese student was killed and three others were injured in a car crash on Oct. 9 in North Michigan's Lake Medora.
