Greek police to detonate package sent to French Embassy
Bomb experts in Athens were preparing on Thursday to detonate a suspicious package addressed to the French Embassy, amid a wave of mail bombings that have targeted embassies in the Greek capital and European leaders, reports said, DPA reported.
Officials said the package was returned to the courier company from the embassy. Police have cut off traffic in the surrounding area in central Athens.
Police have arrested two suspected members of a left-wing militant group in connection with the attacks, which have involved 14 booby- trapped parcels - including a package that reached the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.
