Pope Benedict XVI to visit Germany next year
Pope Benedict XVI is to visit Germany in 2011, the office of President Christian Wulff confirmed on Friday, DPA reported.
He is expected to visit during the second half of the year, with September being touted as the most likely month.
"It is a special pleasure and honour for me and many people in Germany to welcome the Holy Father ... in his home country," Wulff said.
The Pope is expected to visit the diocese of Erfurt and Freiburg, as well as meeting the president in Berlin.
Wulff invited the Pope to Germany last month.
