At least 27 children were seriously injured when their schoolbus overturned in the western Indian state of Maharashtra Wednesday, said police, Xinhua reported.
The mishap happened when the speeding bus carrying nearly 87 passengers, including schoolchildren and teachers turned turtle in the state's Nagpur city. Some 27 students have been admitted to a local hospital wher their condition are said to be serious, said police.
Road accident rate in India is among the highest in the world, with at least 100,000 people killed on the road each year.
