European Union foreign ministers approved a package of toughened sanctions against Libya, adding 11 officials and nine companies associated with the regime of Moamer Gaddafi to existing visa ban and asset freeze lists, a diplomat said DPA reported.
The source told the German Press Agency dpa that the decision did not target Libya's National Oil Company, whose assets are expected to be frozen later this week - in compliance with United Nations Security Council resolution 1973.
