Saudi Arabia condemned Monday what it described as a "criminal attack" that killed one of its diplomats in Pakistan on Monday, according to state-run SPA news agency.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry is following up investigations with Pakistani security authorities and has demanded to strengthen security at the Saudi consulate in Karachi and the embassy in Islamabad and all the staffers, Xinhua reported.
Gunmen on motorcycles attacked a car belonging to the Saudi consulate in Karachi on Monday, killing a consulate staffer Hassan al-Qahtani.
The attack came days after unidentified attackers threw two hand grenades at the Saudi consulate in the city, Pakistan's commercial hub. No one was hurt in that attack.
