Radamel Falcao headed a first-half winner as Porto beat near neighbours Sporting Braga 1-0 to win football's Europa League final in Dublin Wednesday for a third European title in eight years, dpa reported.
Falcao rose unmarked to head in a Freddy Guarin cross in the 44th minute to settle the all-Portuguese affair at the Aviva Stadium. The goal took the Colombian striker's record tally in European competition this season to 17.
The win gave Porto a fourth European title following two Champions League/European Cup wins in 1987 and 2004 and a UEFA Cup title in 2003.
Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas became at 33 the youngest coach to win a UEFA club competition. Porto, who won the domestic league with an unbeaten record, could achieve a title treble if they win Sunday's Portuguese Cup final against Guimaraes.
