An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 05: 43:48 local time on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.60 km, was initially determined to be at 37.6117 degrees north latitude and 144.3295 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
