A Turkish national has been arrested in Germany on suspicion of belonging to the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK), which is outlawed in Turkey and Germany, federal prosecutors said Friday, DPA reported.
The 41-year-old man, who was detained in Frankfurt on Thursday, is alleged to be a senior member of the German section of the PKK and to have been involved in fundraising for the group.
Germany defines the PKK, which has been fighting for an autonomous state for Kurds in Turkey, as a foreign terrorist organization.
