Italian directors Paolo and Vittorio Tavinai won the Berlin Film Festival's coveted Golden Bear for best motion picture on Saturday, dpa reported.

Italian directors Paolo and Vittorio Tavinai won the Berlin Film Festival's coveted Golden Bear for best motion picture on Saturday, dpa reported.

The movie, Caesar Must Die, was one of 18 films competing for top honours at the Berlinale, which is the first major European film festival of the year.

German director Christian Petzold won the Festival's award for best director for the movie Barbara.

Hungarian director Benice Fliegauf won the Jury Grand Prix for his movie Just the Wind.

The Jury Grand Prix is considered the festival's second most prestigious award after the Golden Bear for best motion picture.
