The bodies of two victims of the Mi-8 helicopter crash in Irkutsk province were found near the crash scene, Emergency Control Minister of Russia Oleg Voronov told reporters on Tuesday, RIA Novosti reported.

"Two dead bodies were found today at the crash site of the helicopter during the search and rescue operations on the ice of the river. Measures to evacuate them are being taken now," he said.

There is no official information about the passengers and the other crew members.

Mi-8 helicopter belonging to Angara airline participating in the monitoring of floods, disappeared on Monday afternoon and subsequently debris were found a few miles from Preobrazhenka. There were several tons of explosives on board the helicopter which were meant to free up the ice on the river.

According to EMERCOM data there were nine people on the board, including Acting Chief of the Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Irkutsk province colonel Stanislav Omelyanchik.
