(ForUm) - Foreign Ministers Borys Tarasyuk of Ukraine and Luis Amado of Portugal met in Lisbon to discuss Ukraine's Eurointegration prospects and problems of Ukrainian migrant-laborers' employment in Portugal, reports Trend.

As Luis Amado noted, the Ukrainian community in Portugal is one of the most numerous, about 150,000.

The Ukrainians, he said, are known as hard-working people, who are efficiently integrating with the Portuguese society, which is why the Portuguese Government attaches great significance to improving terms for their legalization, Cabinet press office reported.

The parties also discussed issues, connected with Portugal's upcoming EU presidency (on July 1, 2007).

They specifically discussed matters of convening the Ukraine - EU Summit in Kyiv in 2007's second half.

Drawing the line under his visit to Portugal, Borys Tarasyuk stated it is having been successful and having allowed the parties to discuss many topical issues of Ukrainian - Portuguese relations.

As Borys Tarasyuk noted, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry keeps working toward making life easier for Ukrainians abroad.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Ukraine has signed an odd dozen agreements, basically with EU nations, on the legal status of Ukrainian migrant laborers.
