Ukraine's prime minister hopes inflation not to increase

(www.for-ua.com) вЂ" The Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych hopes that in 2007 inflation rate will remain on the level of 7-7.5 %. He told today at the concluding college of the Labor and Social policy Ministry, reports Trend.

The PM noted that the Ministry and the Government should not practice populism. According to him, it is very important the inflation not to increase in the country.

He considers the inflation level of 0.5% in January is an index we should count on.

Yanukovych noted that it is important to keep inflation within the range of 7-7.5%.

At forming the state budget for 2007 the Cabinet took into consideration forecast of inflation rate 7.5%, growth of GDP вЂ" 6.5%.

The World Bank forecasts GDP growth on the level of 4.5%, inflation rate вЂ" 10.7% in 2007.

According to the International Monetary Fund forecast, growth of GDP will comprise 4.3-4.5%, inflation rate вЂ" 12.9-13.6% in 2007.
