A tornado that formed after torrential rains wounded eight tourists in southern Turkey on Saturday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported Sunday.
The twister swept the Alanya town of southern Antalya province, shattering the windows of a hotel and injuring eight tourists sitting at the lobby, the report said.
The tourists were then treated in a private hospital in the holiday resort. Alanya's subgovernor Hulusi Dogan said they were in good condition but had several cuts on their hands and faces.
The tornado also broke the windows of some other business places and damaged the roofs, the report added.
Flash floods triggered by torrential rains had swamped houses and stranded vehicles, killing 33 people in northwestern coastal regions in the country till Saturday, according to the agency's report.
