Turkey's prime minister said on Friday that the Middle East could not remain indifferent to changes when the entire world was changing, Anadolu News Agency reported.

Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Africa could not and should not remain indifferent to changes either.

"Those who resist to changes start to oppress," Erdogan said during a ceremony in the western province of Canakkale to mark the 96th anniversary of "Canakkale Naval Victory".

Erdogan said Turkey could not tolerate more pain and agonies in the Middle East and Africa.

"We want to see brotherhood and solidarity, not violence, torture or pressure, in this geography from now on," Erdogan said.

Middle Eastern and African countries have been facing anti-government protests for some time. Some of these countries are Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain, and Libya.
