Turkish-Syrian border is not closed, but some changes are made to operation of checkpoints, TRT Haber TV channel quotes Turkish Customs Minister Hayati Yazici as saying.
He said according to the changes, Syrian citizens may cross Turkish border without problem. Trucks owned by Syria and transporting goods through Turkish territory to third countries cannot cross the border.
However, Syrian trucks exporting and importing goods can cross the Turkish border without problem.
Earlier, several Turkish media outlets reported that border between Turkey and Syria is closed.
The crisis in relations between Turkey and Syria has recently worsened after a Turkish Air Force F-4 jet departing from the Erhac airbase in the Province of Malatya, was shot down by Syria.
Syria said it shot down the F4 jet because it was flying over Syrian territorial waters. However the Turkish side says that the F4 jet was shot down in international airspace and its wreckage fell into Syrian territorial waters.
