By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

New head of Turkey's Central Bank can be appointed, the Hurriyet newspaper reported Apr.11.

Murat Cetinkaya, who has been working in the country's banking sector since 2003, is expected to be named new head of Turkey's Central Bank.

Earlier, Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek said that it is expected to appoint a new head of the Central Bank.

Currently, the Central Bank is headed by Erdem Basci.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in February of 2015 that he is not satisfied with the work of the Central Bank's head.

Although the government has repeatedly demanded the Central Bank to reduce the key interest rates, the regulator hasn't reacted to this demand so far, said the president.
