Turkey welcomes the ceasefire agreement reached between Palestine and Israel, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, Turkish media reported on May 30.
Cavusoglu noted that Turkey from the first day stands for a ceasefire in the region, further adding that at the same time, the ceasefire does not mean a full peace.
"No one can guarantee that tomorrow Israel will not resume military operations in the Gaza Strip," Cavusoglu said.
Earlier, HAMAS and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced a ceasefire agreement with Israel, Palestinian media reported. The Palestinian side stated that the armistice was reached with the mediation of Egyptian representatives.
